Pyxis Engineering Name
The Pyxis Engineering name derives from the star constellation Pyxis, meaning compass. Pyxis Engineering's goal is to provide our customers with the technological direction to solve any problem.
Pyxis is completely visible in latitudes south of 53 degrees north from January through March. It represents a mariner's compass and was once part of the larger constellation, Argo Navis. When the Argo navis was split into four smaller constellations, Pyxis was originally names Malus, the mast. It was later changed to Pyxis Nautica, the nautical box or mariner's compass. In modern times the name was shortened to Pyxis.
