Information Assurance

Pyxis Engineering is a leader in adhering to security guidelines set forth by the major database corporations as well as the intelligence community. The Pyxis engineers have several solutions that can “lock down” any client site and are currently operational for government intelligence customers with the strictest security standards. The techniques use customized scripts in addition to the latest security protocols such as Virtual Private Databases (VPD), Fine Grained Auditing (FGA), Row Level Security (RLS), Secure Socket Layer (SSL), Oracle Advanced Security Option (ASO), Oracle Database Vault and Oracle Label Security (OLS). Each security solution is individually tailored to the domain of the customer and meets all of their goals.

High Performance

Striving for high performance, Pyxis Engineering utilizes Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) to load balance each customer application across the processing power of a grid making it better, faster, and cheaper. Pyxis Engineering professionals currently monitor more than 300 databases using Oracle Grid Control and use this information to tune for faster query response time, better memory management, distributed CPU usage, and better storage allocation.

High Availability

Striving for high performance, Pyxis Engineering draws on Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) to create a service-oriented architecture model for database access. Applications connecting to a database via configured services are automatically load balanced across the processing power of a grid. Pyxis engineers, currently maintaining over 300 databases, monitor this grid in order to further tune the system for faster query response time, better memory management, distributed CPU usage, and better storage allocation.
